1 - What is the AbleProject.org mission?
To provide a network where people with disabilities and their loved ones can effortlessly research, compare, locate and obtain mobility and assistive products, thereby helping them to lead more independent lives.
2 - Who is AbleProject.org?
We are a non-profit organization.
We are business, financial, technology and computer professionals who either have a disability, or provide care for disabled loved ones.
3 - Why was AbleProject.org created?
Through out our own lives, we know how difficult it is to locate and find products for our own disability. We always have had difficulty knowing what products are available, and whom we could contact to purchase such products. Therefore, Able Project got created to help people to find mobility and assistive product easier.
4 - Why is the Project Able mission so important?
We believe in empowering people with disabilities. Mobility and assistive devices help us to be active, and live our lives to the fullest.
According to Mc Neil and US Census, 20 million more people will have a disability by the next few years due to aging. We want everyone to continue to have active lives.
We are creating a virtual showroom of mobility and assistive products where people can see the products, learn about product specifications, and then connect to a manufacturer or local dealer within 24 hours.
5 - How does the site work?
- Log in to www.ableproject.org.
- Click on "Product" button or search products.
- Choose the desired category.
- Choose the sub-category and manufacturer, and then click on your choice.
- Choose a model and click on the picture to learn more about the product.
- You can compare other products from the same or other manufacturers side by side by choosing a product from the pull down window.
- Choose a product that most meets your needs.
- Click on the next button in the green box.
- Complete the short, confidential form.
- Click on submit.
Note: You will be contacted by a local resource or manufacturer that is experienced with your selected product. This resource will provide you with a fast, price competitive assistance by the next working business day.
